Athletic progress is earned, not bought, and not ingested. Achievement in sport, and the satisfaction it brings, is necessarily the result of prolonged periods of slog. Pure, thigh-torturing slog. That warm glow on crossing the finish line in a better position or time than ever before is
derived from knowing it was your dedication to training that made it possible: all those hours in the saddle, all that commitment, all those sacrifices. But it was worth it — you got out what you put in.
